How can a song be visually interpreted?
Type II explored this question— through simple black and white typographic compositions that captured rhythm and pitch, through repetition, scale, tension and unity. Students created quick 8x8 compositions in sketch or digital form that were inspired by or visually represented a song played. This exercise served as a warm up to class each week. Instructor Precious Bugarin along with her Fall 2019 class collected and curated these exercises in the catalog you see.
